Saturday of Lazarus on Skopelos
On Sunday of Lazarus, children in Skopelos were accustomed to make a "Lazarus" out of rags that looked like a scarecrow and after placing him in a timber, were going around the streets singing the song of Lazarus.
In Skopelos, even nowadays, in every home they make small “Lazarakia”(Little Lazaruses) out of dough with eyes of nutmeg and hands crossed in the middle. With a knife, they form the legs from the Lazarakia, they place a bay leaf and bake them in the oven.
