Agnontas on Skopelos
The village was named after the Olympic champion Agnontas or Agnon. In 569 BC Agnontas won the race athletic event in the Olympics and when he returned he disembarked at the point where now the village of Agnontas is. His face is also depicted in a silver coin of the classical era.
Agnontas is a small fishing village which is dominated by green and blue color. The village is surrounded by pine trees that create a serene atmosphere and a sheltered harbor where ships and dolphins dock when Beaufort do not allow them to leave.
