Skopelos City
The capital (Chora) of the island of Skopelos is built amphitheatrically and the houses are very closely spaced. White and red are the dominant colors of this small beautiful city, since all houses are painted in white with roofs of deep red tiles. Also, in every courtyard and balcony you can see small gardens with bougainvillea and other colorful flowers. Numerous small churches are hidden among the houses, which are respectfully cared by locals strictly maintaining their religious tradition. The 1978 was the year that the unique and unchangeable in time architecture of Skopelos was highlighted as the traditional settlement of the country.
