Skopelos Asclepieion
The Asclepieion of ancient Peparithos is located at Livadi - Ampeliki, on the southeastern part of Skopelos bay. In the excavation of 1961 they discovered ancient buildings, statues, relics and an inscribed base dedicated to Asclepius from whom it got its name. Later on, the ancient buildings were destroyed by the waves but in a newer excavation they discovered a building complex and amphorae, red-figure Attic vases, fragments of statues and terracotta figurines and coins, hosted in a specially configurated space in this area.
