Bird watching on Skopelos
The island of Skopelos accommodates a rich flora and fauna and areas of the island are integrated in the National Marine Park of Northern Sporades. A number of sedentary birds visit it with most known the Mediterranean sea-gulls, the cormorants which frequently go around the fishing boats, different species of eagles, the Eleonora’s Falcon (falcon eleonorae), the Grey Heron (ardea cinirea), falcons, bee-eaters and the King Fisher (alceda athis). Furthermore, guests can watch beautiful peacocks, which formerly were domesticated animals.
