Skopelos Towers

The Towers in antiquity were scattered farmhouses, mainly located in the squares on the north side of Glossa. Ancient fortified farmhouses were built in Mavragani, Sentouka, Agios Georgios, Elliniko, Ditropo and in Priona in order to engage in the cultivation of grain, the production of wine and oil, while also protecting against pirates and invaders. Following the route to the monuments you will pass in front of small chapels and abandoned huts that used to house the old furnaces for the drying of plums.
